Low Wu Yang
Hello everybody! My name is Low Wu Yang of HH08, 09S06G and of course the RJC batch of 2009! I study Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and German. Some might question my rather unusual choice of the German language over Economics, but it was never any doubt for me as the German language was and still remains something I am very passionate about. Like my subject combination, my interests are also rather diverse. I dabble in many fields but some of those that really pique my interest include photography, singing, web-design and reading. With my interest in singing, it might not come as much of a surprise that my CCA is Raffles Chorale. I am also a member of the Raffles Medical Society.
The key reason why I decided to take up the challenge of running for council is the desire to give back to the Rafflesian community. For four years, the Rafflesian community has looked out and watched over me, always encouraging and never despondent. I have been given numerous opportunities to develop myself both as a learner and a leader, a trend that has continued to this day. Therefore I decided that it was my turn to take up the mantle of responsibility and return the school’s faith in me. How would I go about doing so? By giving back to you of course! If you should give us the Howdyhuff Heroes your vote and your trust, we will return the favour by lending a listening ear to your grievances and put forth your feedback through the proper channels so that they are heard. We will strive to improve the experience of studying in RJC by ensuring that the pursuit of academic excellence never compromises the fun and exciting atmosphere of the school! We might not have real superpowers but we will strive to the extent of our abilities to serve you, the student body. So once again I appeal to you to place your faith in us the Howdyhuff Heroes and allow us to serve you!

Tammy Ying
Hey friends! I am Tammy Ying from Orientation Group HH08 – T’eam Rocket! My CCA is One Earth and I am in 09S05B taking Physics Geography, Mathematics and Economics – a double science and double humanities combination (not really the conventional PCME or BCME or even humanities or arts combination that you see today). I love Geography. Physical Geography in particular, because it lets us learn about the happenings on Earth and our surroundings we live in. My hobbies are reading, listening to music, collecting recyclable materials and environmentally-related articles, and hand-making accessories! They help me unwind and distress after a week or so of intense mugging (and campaigning!).
I’m running for council mainly because I want to serve the school, in particular, you! I believe firmly in being the change that you want to see in the school. I wish to be a link between you and the school administration, teachers, and other figures in the school in order to be that change to help improve your life in RJC! I aspire to be a superhero! As you can see, our campaign team theme is based on the heroic cartoon characters – the Powerpuff Girls. As our blog suggests, adding our own personal touch and originality to these characters, we’ve decided to call ourselves the “Howdyhuff Heroes” (HH!)! As cute and childish this theme may seem, the underlying meaning behind them actually portrays our passion and enthusiasm for service quite aptly. Like the Students’ Council, superheroes serve their community to the best of their abilities. Though we may not have the superpowers of flight or moving objects with our mind, we believe that we can be just like them by putting in our 110% while serving the school. This way, we will be heroes in our own ways! As such, even super heroes need to draw strength from the encouragement of those around them in order to persevere and never give up. Just like them, we need YOUR support in order to be able to fulfill our wish of joining Students’ Council. So vote for us! Fangting, Tammy and Wuyang (FTW)! From there, we can work hand-in-hand and bring our school soaring to even greater heights!
P.S. Just in case you’re wondering, among the three characters portrayed on the blog, I’ve chosen to be Bubbles! The reason was quite a simple one. Before dyeing my hair color back, I originally had a rather blonde hair colour. Hence, I was nicknamed the blonde in my OG (but that isn’t the only reason okay!)! Bubbles’ character is also rather similar to mine. We’re bubbly, talkative, friendly, caring, (we both like soft toys too) and we play a good supporting role in a team!

Fang Ting
Hadley-Hullettian from HH08 Team Rocket! Currently in class 09S03K. As you know, I take BCME. I was from St Nicks and was a Girl Guide. Now I am in Wushu and Debate. Oh and most of all, I am a HOWDYHUFF HERO of RJC! Basically I am a cheerful person. (Come what may, we brighten your day!) whee haha. I would just like to say that I strive very hard for my goals and I do not give up easily from them when the going gets tough. About my beliefs in leadership, I feel that leadership is actually a service because the ultimate result is the benefit of the people. I think the difference is that in leadership there is an added element of initiating, where you gather the courage to take the first step in doing things. Leadership without the element of service will merely be tyranny. And yes, we the Howdyhuff heroes try to follow through with this, by listening and hearing your say, and then we will serve you by saving the day! My hobbies are getting freebies and shopping for things that are cheap and good and on sale! (OMG I sound so PCK) But when I am more serious I also enjoy watching stars in the night sky and reading up on Black Holes. This is because since young I have been fascinated by the celestial bodies. Did I tell you that my kindergarten ambition was to be an astronaut? :P
I dreamt of Council since last year. It is a privilege to lead and make a difference for a student body, returning the two years’ worth of nurturing through service, especially to RJC, where my passions lie. In doing so, I will be able to forge an experience so strong that even when we look back years later, it will still remain undiluted in our memories. Council will be able to grant me this journey of a lifetime where I will gain experience and strengthen friendships, all allowing me to learn and grow as a person. The sense of accomplishment I can achieve is priceless. Running for council is also a challenge I took upon myself to stand up on my own to reach beyond my limits, a goal worth fighting for. But for now, the main reason is just that I would like to serve RJC, the school that I love. I wish to see the Rafflesian spirit blaze so bright and strong to the point that whenever i think of my school, I will feel a great sense of pride and joy and hold it dear to my heart. I wish that I can be given the chance to ignite the Rafflesian Spirit with my own hands, and I hope that you can give us this chance by voting for us, and making my dream come true. Vote now! Vote for the Howdyhuff Heroes! We will not let you down.
Oh i still have not mentioned my reason for choosing Blossom to represent me. the answer is...cos she's SEXY REDHEAD!!! Just joking. Actually, it's because even though she is fun loving and sweet, she does have her serious moments. She is focused on her task and is a great leader, making decisions intelligently. She is also an unselfish friend with a stroong sense of justice. I am gearing myself towards this area of personal development, and i hope that these traits will be more refined in me. Oh and also because, like me, Blossom's hair is in a perpetual high ponytail that curls a little at the ends :)
